That is one hard decision although I would choose the galaxy s3. I currently owned the galaxy s2 and I have never had to complain about it EVER. Anyways, the galaxy s3 has a longer battery life than the One X.. HTC are known for battery life problems.
Concerning the OS, the galaxy comes with ics 4.0.4 whilst the htc comes with ics 4.0, thus making the galaxy more liable for future os updates. For example, my galaxy s 2 comes with gingerbread and can be updated until 4.0.3 ics. An android froyo mobile, mostly could be updated until gingerbread, if you get what i mean.
Concerning storage memory this is a field in which the samsung is the clear winner. Theres a 64GB model, and with expandable storage(microsd).. the on x comes as 16/32GB storage with no card slot.
Both screens are 720p but the big difference i that while the HTC One x uses a super ips display, the galaxy s3 uses a super amoled panel. IPS screens use backlights, where the AMOLED type has light emitting pixels. AMOLED looks better in dark condition, where a traditional backlight becomes visible in areas of black, but the htc offers more accurate colour reproduction and whiter whites than the super amoled. Since the screen of the one x is closer to the surface it is more vital looking.
The galaxy has a 1.4 cortex A9 quad with exynos4212 whilst the one x has a 1.5 quad with nvida tegra 3. Concerning this, benchmarks show that the galaxy tops it but it's real power is yet to be seen so you cant be sure. Theorethically, the galaxy supports better video codec making it an ace for video recording.
Its a rather difficult decision between these two but I would choose the galaxy s3 for longer battery life. The screen wont make much of a difference unless comparing it side by side with the one x. A vast storageis handed to you, the screen is 0.1 inch bigger than the one x (i like big mobiles).

To add with wiza..
The battery life is really one big problem from the one X. its a great mobile. but lacks the battery power to make it that great,
The Galaxy S3 also incorporates seeveral software by Samsung which makes it more Cool
(Like HTC sense, but way betteR)

Thanks for your unbiased detailed comment wisa92, and your help play. What you both didn't mention is that OneX has some other advantages imo, including shape, and the plastic finish is not that great on samsung. Performance wise, I think galaxy is better, and that is what really counts in the end + battery life.
If there are any other opinions, please feel free to add them.
Thanks.

They criticize it because of the lack in ability to configure your graphical interface.. comparing it to the htc sense ui.. thus making the htc sense ui better. Thats why the htc demand and supply has grown a lot in these years since beginning from htc hero release this ui. Thus making htc makjng a rjn for their money, and that is why htc is popular.. casual people just say "thats a beautiful mobile". They dont look at hardware, alas touchwiz is absolutely great still

I forgot to mention that, if im not mistaken no it doesnt.. you can go to gsmarena.com
Thats an ace website for mobiles, i spend hours on it just viewing and comparing mobiles.. it really helps.
But if youre considering to buy onr of these i would go for the galaxy
Htc : no battery, no party.. theres a differnce of 8 to 10 hours of battery life between the one x and galaxy.

well, you won't regret getting any one of these phones for sure. Personally I prefer the HTC design, since hardware wise, in the end, they will all perform the same.
On paper, yes, they might be a bit different, but come on, in real life, they are both very fast.
Ultimately, it all comes down to what you prefer in terms of design.

Yo're right, it s basically which software do you fancy the most. But if there is a huge difference in the battery life, that is something to consider imo.
