Don't you have to rent a dedicated server from EA?

The closest we can rent hosting apparently is in italy. It's around 35-40ms if you have a good connection, but I'm not happy enough. I miss the 15ms COD2 days...

I don't think setting up a BF3 server is a simple matter of running an application on a web server, like CoD2 was......

Battlefield Servers are servers hosted by EA themselves or partners.I guess one could become a partner but it would take long time and some strict issues.

EA monitors each server, therefore that is why there are almost no hacks and so on, it is connected directly to their database/system and so on.

Imagine hosting LoL servers.. BF3... and the other currently top gmae titles.. but to get the access to it.. :s

So, anyone has an idea what becoming a partner involves?

Also, seeing where the game is going, especially since DICE do not think is a good idea to list all the changes in their change log I do not think it would be worth the trouble. The game seems to be moving towards CoD: Pray and Spray.

It's actually a great game xeon, it cant fall to that level

When I started playing the game it was. Now what you have is most snipers sitting at the edge of the map using bipods because DICE sought it fit to make it in such a way that you need to stop for one full second before being able to start holding your breadth, which means that you are a sitting duck for 1-2 seconds.

What I see is mostly spray, excluding the one offs where someone actually takes his/her time to aim properly and kill you off with one shot, and I am not talking about those snipers which sit at the edge of the map.

It might not fall to that level, however, it reminds me of when I used to play CoD.
