Mario Strikers Charged Football (WII)

Sport
Video available
Mario takes to the soccer pitch once more, bringing his own unique 'fighting football' style for the first time to Nintendo's Wii console, with Mario Strikers: Charged Football.

In this follow-up to Mario Smash Football, you use the skill provided by the Wii Remote and Nunchuk Controller to win the ball, score unstoppable goals and take control of the goalkeeper to perform spectacular saves

Mario is joined by other famous Nintendo characters who take on the role of captain. Then select a host of popular team-mates to make up the rest of the team, before competing in one of the game's many modes. Anything goes in Mario Strikers: Charged Football as you can utilise a variety of special techniques to clinch goals.

Each captain has their own set of skills and super abilities as well as being able to perform special shots called Mega Strikes, where the ball splits into five and flies at the goal. The defending player must use the Wii Remote to aim at and shoot these balls out of the air before they concede a goal. You can also charge the ball with energy, making it more likely to find its target.

Each of the stadiums in Mario Strikers: Charged Football have various characteristics and contraptions, which you must learn to use to your advantage to truly dominate the pitch.

Mario Strikers: Charged Football not only features an action-packed single-player mode but also supports four-player action via Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, letting you take part in online tournaments!

Wii Fit comes bundled with the Wii Balance Board, an accessory developed exclusively for the Wii console that will have a far-reaching impact for all who use it. It's innovative, exciting and most of all fun and simple for all to use. It is a pressure sensitive, wireless balance board that goes on the floor - so someone can stand on it in front of the TV. It senses weight and shift in balance in any direction and therefore by standing on the Wii Balance Board during activities allows players to follow along to movements ensuring they have full control of the on-screen activities. This allows personal improvement goals to be set to effectively help you and your family to train and stay fit...

Increasing your awareness of the importance that fitness has on everyday life and keeping yourself and family motivated should be easier with Wii Fit. The programme allows up to 8 people to track progress and monitor performance. Once you insert the Wii Fit Disc into a Wii console, a new channel - Wii Fit Channel can be added to your Wii Menu system. Once the Wii Fit Channel is added it enables users to not have to insert the Wii Fit Disc into a Wii console in order for the Wii Balance Board to scale your weight to calculate your BMI, measure the centre of your bodily balance and conduct a balance test in order to calculate your Wii Fit Age. It also allows you to monitor how long you did which category of exercise for in one day, all in the comfort of your own home and without the need to keep inserting the Wii Fit Disk into your Wii console each time.

Features

Board Game Island (1-4 players) - players take it in turns to roll the dice and advance along a single route towards the summit of the mountain. At the beginning of each turn, everyone plays a mini-game, and the order the players come in determines which bonus dice they receive. This is a board game like no other – expect the impossible.

Globe Trot (1-4 players) – a board game that has you travelling the world to earn souvenir photos. The players must select one card at a time from the cards they have in their hands and advance the stated number of spaces towards the country they are aiming for. There is also a minigame before each turn, and based on the results, players win coins which they can use to buy movement cards and souvenir photos.

Bingo (1-4 players) - each player receives a bingo card covered in Mii characters. If a “Mii Ball” comes out of the bingo machine, you have to check off that Mii if it appears on your card, while if a “Mini-game Ball” appears, you play a mini-game. The winner can check off any Mii of their choice. The winner is the first to make a line horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

Swap Meet (1-4 players) – Have fun matching Mii characters wearing the same colours and playing minigames. The aim of the game is to make each row consist of Mii characters wearing the same colour.

Spin Off (1-4 players) – each Mii takes a turn to spin the wheel by holding the A Button and flicking the Wii Remote. Depending on where the wheel stops, you could be in for some point-scoring medals.

Wii Sports Resort (WII)

Sport
Video available
Wii Sports Resort is a sequel to the original Wii pack-in game, Wii Sports. The title's resort is set on a tropical island, where players may take part in a dozen sports-based activities involving archery, basketball, biking, canoeing, golf, jet skiing, skydiving, sword fighting, table tennis, waterskiing, and flying disc games with a cute, Mii dog companion. As in the original Wii Sports, Resort players participate in the activities by performing the motions of the real-life sports while holding the movement-sensitive controllers, such as thrusting and parrying with a sword, taking a slicing swing at a Ping-Pong ball to put backspin on it, flicking the wrist to toss a spinning disc, or leaning side to side in order to steer with air resistance while skydiving. The initial release of Wii Sports Resort is the first game to come packaged with the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which attaches to the bottom of the Wii Remote controller and provides more precise movement sensitivity than is available with the original Wii equipment.
