Mod tools, dev console confirmed for PC Call of Duty: Black Ops
Developer Treyarch seems totally intent on repairing whatever bridges were burned between PC gamers and Modern Warfare 2. They've already voiced a desire to bring dedicated servers to Call of Duty: Black Ops, and now they've confirmed one of the features that make PC gamers love their platform choice so much: modding support.
While details on how extensive modding support will be remain vague, Treyarch has confirmed on the game's forums that it will be added as a feature sometime post-launch.
"There are some purely technical issues related to engine and internal tool enhancements that do not easily fit the modtools paradigm," reads the post. "We have looked at it close enough to see that it is non-trivial and we will have to pick it up again post-launch. Right now we are completely focused on finishing the game."
Treyarch also confirmed that Black Ops' PC version will come with a dev console, so at the very least PC gamers will have more control over how their games play out on day one.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is slated for a November 9 release on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii.

I hope this will pick up steam in malta.. However if we pick this up I hope they actually use the modtools and stuff to make the game more interesting and not restrict the perks and items in games like what has happened with the last 2 proper iterations of CoD. Treyarch is probably trying to replace infinity ward, after what activition has done to them and stuff..
All I'll say is that I'm jealous for all the PC gamers that will get to play this.. Why did my pc have to stop playing games? :<
