XTracPads Zoom - Hard Surface Mousepad

My Intelliscope laser mouse on the XTracPads Zoom...quite comfortable :)
The Zoom is made of thin plastic. Although it is classified as size L (large), it is quite smaller, in fact I consider it as medium sized. It is also very thin, and its surface is very cool, with a carbon fibre-like effect. Although some may think that this is just a normal graphic, in fact this hexagonal pattern enables enhanced tracking for optical mice.

The Zoom's surface can easily be cleaned since, unlike other gaming mousepads like the Ripper, it is not made of rubber but of plastic. Its size is that of 8.5" x 11" x Super Thin (216mm x 280mm), so it fits quite easily on standard desks. Visit the Zoom product page here.

My mouse fitted with the Mad Dotz (those plastic patches on the corners).
Another accessory which goes well with this mousepad is the InstaGlide, from XTracPads as well. As stated in the XTracPads site, "XTracPads InstaGlide™ is a "quick-to-install" anti-friction liquid that applies to your existing mouse feet and to plastic top mouse pads." It helps in keeping your mouse's movement smooth. This liquid comes ready in a small plastic box, and can be used for about 100 times. Visit the InstaGlide product page here.

A similar product which I tested out was the Mad Wax. This liquid wax can be applied to your plastic mousepad, giving it more speed and less friction. When combined with the Zoom and the Mad Dotz (see below), your mouse comes very slippy and thus create a very smooth movement which is ideal for gaming and other activities. Visit the Mad Wax product page here.
The XTracPads trio - Zoom, Mad Wax, and Mad Dotz.

One can also use the Mad Dotz. These are round-shaped plastic which can be sticked over your existing mouse feet for extra support. I have been testing them out lately, and found that these result in a much more comfortable movement when used over the Zoom mousepad. Visit the Mad Dotz product page here.

Pros:

-Small
-Comfortable
-Can easily be cleaned using a wet wipe or one of the accessories mentioned above
-Smooth

Cons:

-Can't be rolled unlike rubber mousepads
-More suitable for optical mice rather than laser

Conclusion:

If you are looking for an above-normal mousepad which is good for an extensive number of tasks, you should really consider the XTracPads Zoom.

Rating: 85%
XTracPads Zoom, Mad Wax, and Mad Dotz...all go together.
