Two new Core brands have now been officialy announced: Core i5, and Core i3. So what will be the difference between them and Core i7? Well, as the naming schema suggests, the higher the number, the higher the performance that can be expected from a processor. Here's a table to summerize what Intel said here.

Secondly there will also be some Intel brands cut. Here is a summarized list:
- The Core™2 Duo and Core™2 Quad names will eventually disappear, for the above, simpler, naming schemes.
- The Centrino will also start to disappear starting as of next year.
- The Pentium, Celeron and Atom will remain.
Also, the Processors will now be numbered in this way:
- Core i7 - 9xx
- Core i5 - 6xx
- Core i3 - 5xx
